Our Origin Story...

The owner Alyson Black-Barrie grew up in Los Alamitos, then Long Beach since college. She has been a Hollywood Hairstylist and Makeup Artist for 18 years. decided to open this Salon & Gallery in 2019, an OCSA/Los Alamitos H.S. graduate, she went on to major in Fine Arts at CSULB.  Where she studied drawing and painting with an emphasis in Surrealism, which inspired our concept Surreal Salon & Gallery. Her love & pride of Long Beach encouraged her to want to promote the local talent in this awesome city. So we sell only Long Beach Artists' work & have multiple murals painted by them as well.
